Shey is the sacred heart of inner Dolpo — a landscape of crystal peaks and ancient monasteries, ringed by the Dhaulagiri and Kanjiroba ranges. From the cliffs above the valley, shilajit seeps slowly from the rock. We collect it, and purify it in Dunai, the gateway town where it is found.
